Your data security matters to us
Data Collection
We collect your account information (email address, name), the stories you create, and your purchase history. For story personalization, a child’s first name and age are processed with parental consent; this data is used solely to generate stories, is shared only with the AI providers listed below to produce the story (in text and image requests the name is replaced by a made-up name), and is never used for marketing.

Your data is used only to provide services, personalize stories, and improve the experience.

Your data is protected with SSL encryption and stored on secure servers.
Cookies
We use only essential cookies: the secure login session, your language preference (NEXT_LOCALE) and a cookie with language and country context for displaying the site (kv_user_context). Analytics measurement (Umami, self-hosted by us, no cookies) is only loaded after you give consent in the cookie banner. We do not use advertising or marketing cookies. See our Cookie Policy.
AI Service Providers
To generate stories, your data (story text input) is sent to the following third-party AI providers for processing: OpenRouter and Anthropic (text generation); KIE.ai, MiniMax, fal.ai and OpenRouter (image generation); and ElevenLabs and MiniMax (voice narration). Only the minimum data necessary is shared, and these providers are subject to their own privacy policies. Your data is not shared with or sold to third parties for marketing purposes. In requests to the story and image AI, your child's and the characters' names are replaced by made-up names; the real name is put back into the story only on our server. Voice narration processes the finished story text, including the name.
Processors and Recipients
Besides the AI providers, we use: Stripe (payments on the website; we do not receive card details); RevenueCat (app subscription and purchase-status management, processes your account ID and purchase data); Apple and Google (billing of purchases in the App Store and Google Play and, if you choose that sign-in method, signing in with Apple or Google); Hetzner Online GmbH, Germany (hosting of our servers in the EU); and two services we host ourselves: GlitchTip for error reports (personal data masked, no session recordings) and Umami for visitor statistics (only after consent). International Data Transfers
Of the AI providers listed above, OpenRouter, Anthropic, KIE.ai, fal.ai and ElevenLabs are based in the United States; MiniMax is a Singapore company that stores data in data centres in the United States. Data transfers to these countries are carried out under appropriate safeguards, namely the European Commission Standard Contractual Clauses (SCC 2021/914) and/or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (DPF). Transfers are limited to the minimum data necessary for service provision and remain subject to each provider's independent privacy policies. Data Retention
Your data is retained while your account is active and for as long as required by legal obligations. When you request account deletion, your personal data is deleted or anonymized within 30 days.
